Sheriff’s Office Awarded “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” Grant from Local Farmer/Rancher

June 12, 2018 – Yuma County farmer and rancher Nikki Weathers directed a $2,500 donation to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office as part of the America’s Farmers Grow Communities grant, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.  As part of its mission towards continued impact on local drug trade, the Sheriff’s Office intends to earmark the funds for use by the agency’s K9 Unit, which has been funded completely absent of taxpayer dollars. “Agriculture is the core of our community,” says Sheriff Chad Day.  “We are extremely grateful to Nikki Weathers, and the Monsanto Fund, for supporting our efforts towards keeping Yuma County an excellent place to live and do business.”
