Sheriff Offers Church Security Classes

Over the past week, Yuma County Sheriff Chad Day has received multiple inquiries for visits about church security ideas and input. The events at the small church in Sutherland Springs Texas is a stark reminder of the importance of even rural community churches having a plan in place for these kinds of emergencies.

Due to the volume of contacts to the Sheriff and Sheriff’s Office about church security in our communities, the Sheriff’s Office will be offering training around the subject of basic and reasonable church security principles and ideas for local congregations to consider.

Be watching our Facebook page and the local newspapers for announcements about when that training will occur (likely right after the first of the year) and where.

"Thank you for your service Yuma County Sheriff for keeping us safe we have your back."
